History of Miller Park
Ground was broken on the stadium on November 9, 1996. Miller Park was completed roughly four and a half years later. The stadium was built in a parking lot right behind County Stadium. Construction on the stadium was put on hold after three workers were killed in an accident. During construction they brought in a Lampson Transi-lift crane 3 to help build the roof, one day it collapsed while lifting a section of the roof, killing three construction workers.
In 2006 there were three new additions to the stadium. Two scoreboards were added, and a field level picninc area in right field. It has a capacity of 75 people and is a place where fans can leisurely watch games. A year later, the Brewers were close to breaking their record for most home runs, so the team installed a home run counter that connected to the scoreboard in right field. During the 2008 season they added a strikeout counter. In 2009 they replaced the outfield with Kentucky bluegrass. In 2010 they replaced the original scoreboard that was in center field.
