Target Center is a multi-purpose sporting arena in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is the home of the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA and the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA. History of Target Center
The Minnesota Timberwolves originally built and owned the center in 1990. Five years later the city of Minneapolis purchased the arena and turned over management to Ogden Entertainment. Since then, the arena has been owned by Clear Channel Network, Midwest Entertainment Group, and AEG Facilities. Today the City owns the arena, and AEG Facilities manages the day to day operations.
The Target Center was once one of three NBA arenas with parquet floors, it replaced those floors prior to the 2008 NBA season.
The Target Center is the first arena to have a green roof which was unveiled on September 15, 2009. Target owns the naming rights up through 2014.
