The United Center is a multi-purpose sporting arena in Chicago, Illinois and is the home of the Chicago Bulls of the NBA, and the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL. A detailed United Center seating chart is located to the left. It’s a popular location for large concert events in the state of Chicago.
The arena is owned by United Airlines which built the arena for $175 million. United Airlines pays about $1.8 million per year until 2014 for its naming rights.United Center seats roughly 20,917 for basketball events. On the east side of the stadium there’s a statue of Michael Jordan along with Stan Mikita and Bobby Hull.
The Bulls and Blackhawks operate the United Center through a 50/50 partnership between the two teams. The arena is the largest in the United States in physical size, but not in capacity.

History of United Center
The United Center was the Bulls’ home during their second run of three consecutive NBA championships with Michael Jordan. The Bulls won the 
96 and 97 championships in the United Center, but the 98 championship was won in Salt Lake City, Utah at, what the time, was called The Delta Center (now EnergySolutions Arena).
It’s hosted the Stanley Cup Finals of the NHL in 2010 and 2013. The Chicago Blackhawks won both times.
The Professional Bull Riders made their Built Ford Tough Series debut at the United Center in 2011. What was unique about this event held here was that instead of using dirt, white crushed stone was used to cover the arena floor.
On May 17, 2011, Oprah The Farewell Season: Oprah’s Surprise Spectacular was taped at the United Center. The Democratic National Convention in 1996 was hosted in the United Center and it’s there at the Democratic party nominated Bill Clinton and Al Gore as their President and Vice-President candidates.
